About My Garden Coach

Hi, I'm Joni—a passionate horticulturist and master pruner with extensive experience in fine gardening and landscaping. My journey into horticulture stems from my belief in the therapeutic benefits of lifelong learning, beauty, and building practical skills. I studied at UBC Botanical Garden and the University of Washington Botanical Garden, which enriched my understanding of horticulture. As an Associate Member of the Aesthetic Pruners Association and a member of the Outreach Committee for Plant Amnesty, I recognize the vital need for pruning expertise in both residential and commercial gardens. Effective pruning techniques are crucial for maintaining the health, beauty, and longevity of gardens—and for protecting the investment made in your garden. My role is to deepen your relationship with your own garden through building knowledge, skills, and awareness. My garden coaching is guided by one simple objective: "Love your garden."
